Negative winter chill

This past week has been colder than ice cream in the freezer as much of the nation faced arctic temperatures that reached below 0. It was the winter storm that shut down power, froze pipes, and kept us indoors.

Though the freezing -13 degrees wasn’t idea, there was peace too in watching the snow fall and cover the ground like a beautiful white blanket. While I desired to venture and post OOTDs, I also kept warm and enjoyed my time catching up on “me”. It was worth the relaxation.

Today, after computer several issues, I bring to you this winter outfit. It’s better late than never. The look features a sand colored sweater from Target and a floral skit from Bershka. I mean I long for flowers to bloom so here’s my shamelessly plug. I’m also wearing my new Dr. Marten boots that allowed me to walk in the snow with ease. The real winner is the Columbia coat. Its warmth helped more than you could ever imagine.

While winter is still pretty much in our forecast, there was a slight bit of hope as the temperatures reached 20 degrees, and I never thought I’d be happy to see that number. Next week we will be close to 50 degrees and for that, I can’t wait.

Until then, I want everyone to stay safe and warm. I pray for those heavily affected by this storm, those who lost their lives, and those who are still struggling to maintain their homes.
