Half in half

On Thursday, I got my wisdom teeth pulled. All four. It was a major ordeal. One I wasn’t quiet prepared for as I am now literally starving and in pain. I have never felt miserable, except for that one time where I lost my three front teeth in high school and my then boyfriend dumped me. Oh well, things could be a lot worse.

Naturally I have felt ugly for the past four days. Blame it on starvation. So today, I tried to pretty myself, you know to lift moral and it worked. I completely forgot what it was like to take care of yourself. Literally.

I wore these trousers from H&M that I’ve had for awhile and worn to school multiple times, because they are that comfortable. Since it’s been warm and windy I opted for wearing a ponytail and a cool silver top I found at TJMAXX. Both great wears for a not so comfortable life situation.

Here’s to feeling better, as always

San Francisco Part 3

The last time I posted I showcased an outfit I wore to a very unique place.

Today, I’d like to share what my post “through the garden” was all about.

The Japanese Tea Garden.

Now, I know a thing or two about culture. There is beauty in tradition, customs, and belief’s. I’m proud of where I’m from. Yet, I always marvel at other cultures. I know it might not seem like too much to awe about and maybe I’m being a little ignorant, but my visit to the Japanese Tea Garden filled me with wonder. By wonder I mean, admiration at the Japanese culture, their surroundings, and their history. It’s rich. It’s vibrant. It’s fascinating.

The garden was filled with beautiful trees and landscapes, stone lanterns, and structures that literally made me feel as if I was in another world. There was a certain peace and tranquility to this area. This took me to meditate on life.

I’ve been doing that a lot lately… pondering. I’m just lucky I was able to see this garden and even more so that I have these images to help remind me of where I’ve been.

As always.

Through the garden

It really stinks that I’m not able to post as often as I’d like. But right now, I’m where I need to be. I’ve learned to accept the fact that it’s a busy time of the year. Today I caught myself wishing, hoping, even praying, for summer to come fast. In reality, what I should be doing is thinking how blessed I am “right” now. Then, I realized that counting my blessings is the best way to stop time and enjoy the moment.

  1. The boyfriend and I haven’t been spending a lot of time together, but we’re still so in love.
  2. We haven’t been able to practice or play due to a heavy rainfall, but today, the middle school team I coach, won our fist game of the season. Yay!
  3. Work is full of things to do, but I’ve got a job.
  4. I haven’t been able to run or exercise, but I’m healthy.
  5. I haven’t been able to travel or sit still, but I still have San Francisco to ponder over.

Which brings me to this outfit. I wore it during a rendezvous to a very unique and beautiful garden. I’ll share with you all that location in a different post, but for now I just want to focus on this top.

It’s the return of Zara and I’m not complaining. My friend took me to Zara and it was amazing. There was so much to choose from, so much to see, and so much fitting room fun; I never wanted to leave. What I did leave with instead was this top among other items I hope to share very soon.

Now this top is very fem and soft. I enjoy how unique the sleeves are. It’s simple yet complex. I decided to pair it with green jeans and dark boots to add edge. Since apparently I think I’m edgy (if I even know what that means).

FYI, I did something to my hair too. It’s obvious. I’ll post about that too, if and when I have time. Hope it’s sooner rather than later. As always.

F for Face

Since I’ve been taking Skin, Hair, and Nail vitamins (full post can be found here) and my skin has taking a wonderful turn.

I have to admit my skin isn’t perfect, it’s not always perfect, and it probably won’t ever be perfect, however I can make it the best it can be. Because I have been taking these wonderful vitamins my skin is looking 100 percent more healthy. It’s wonderful. So great in fact, that I’ve resulted in wearing only a light BB Cream for my daytime looks. Now because I still have blemishes and various imperfections from time-to-time I still use foundation, especially for coverage purposes.

beauty-1As you can see there isn’t a whole lot of difference in to the images above and for that I’m thankful. I follow a pretty relaxed skin care routine every night and along with the vitamins my skin almost looks perfect

My every day foundation is L’Oreals’s True Match in warm biege W4. I’ve a straight up drug store girl. I enjoy this foundation so much because it’s easy to apply, it stays put, and it’s shine free. These area ll things I need in order to maintain a low key lifestyle. I can wear this around for hours without having to do a single touch up. It’s perfect for night outs, for shooting photographs for my blog, and also for when I know I’ll have a long day.

On the other hand is my favorite BB Cream from the Maybelline Dream Pure in Medium/Deep Sheer tint collection. As of late, I’ve been obsessed with wearing just bb cream all day. I’ve been wearing it to school lately and so far the wear lasts. Now, I must say that the coverage isn’t 100 percent. Of course it shouldn’t be because it’s just a tint. But, for light and everyday coverage, this is the bb cream of choice.

Thoughts? As always.

Health Week Day 2: Hair Happy

Yes being healthy sometimes means getting a workout, but for it me it also means taking care of other areas, like my hair.

I used to have pretty, long, jet black hair then I hit the salon and well you know that goes.

So now it’s my mission to give my hair some therapy. It needs it.

As of late, I only wash my hair every other day, unless I workout consistently then it’s every day. After the shower, I make sure to oil it up with a leave conditioner and serum.

Currently my favorite hair products are Not Your Mother’s. They work amazing. They smell amazing. I discovered the “Way to Grow” line last year and let me tell you, it’s been amazing, not to mention the leave conditioner works wonders on my split ends.

My hair isn’t all the way perfect… yet, but from the help of this line, it’s sure to be better than before. I’ll have to share with you all a hair evolution post sometime, because the results are worthy of it.

The hair needs vitamins too, so the ones I take are by Spring Valley and the Women’s Vitafusion. So fair I have noticed so much change in my skin, hair, and nails that I hardly even wear makeup and I have to trim my nails every week. Crazy stuff. The two products in the back are the Tresemme Keratin Smoothing Serum I use in combination of the leave conditioner. The other is the Agadir Hair Shield which is a must if  you’re heavily putting your hair through heat. This product is my favorite because it not only products, but it also creates shine and a smooth fine. #winning

The word health is so extensive. It’s also a mindset–weird. Who wants to think about their health? Ha! It’s important to look at a small fraction of what we put in our bodies, but also on our bodies. Can’t wait share day 3 with you all tomorrow. As always.

Shellac for the win

I don’t usually go the nail salon and I have never made it a ritual to get my nails done professional. I usually like to do my nails on my own as one of those “being a girl” privileges, but more than a month ago, I got my nails did.

My aunt gets this thing called Shellac. I had never heard of this and you can laugh and make fun of the fact that is has been around for years and that I haven’t found the mythical unicorn like I thought I did.

Here are my thoughts. It’s an awesome deal. So the picture above are my current nails, like I mentioned before, the first time I got this done was before Christmas break. So as you can see it wears well. The obvious is that the gel based polish has began to pull itself with my growing nail. According to the nail artist, shellac adds strength and durability to the nail. I’ve noticed this tremendously in the sense that my nails have chipped or cracked like they usually do when I traditionally paint them myself. Also, shellac is said to be less damaging, who would’t consider that a plus.

In addition, and this was my favorite, my nails are instantly dry when I leave the salon. That’s where Shellac takes the win.

This week has been super crazy for me (this entire month has) so I won’t be getting the nails done until next week. Once I do, I’ll post a first time round-look.

If you use Shellac, what do you like most about it?

Purple to love

My favorite color is purple despite the fact that I wear black (mainly).

So and because of this, my go-to shades of lipsticks are purple.

This picture sure doesn’t show the shades of purple justice, but like I mentioned in my tint review, it’s hard for me to find anything the lips will like. But, the Revlon lipsticks have been amazing. These four are my absolute favorite. You can tell which I use often and consecutively. The shades above are Plum Velour, Berry Brazen, Mauvy Night, and Iced Amethyst.

As of late, I have expanded my collected and added the Studded Kiss Lipstick in Coven by Kat Von D. It is stellar. It also smells yummy. It’s also nice and fresh and it doesn’t dry my lips, which is a plus. I’ve only worn it once and I got a lot of compliments. What are your thoughts?
