Weekend Vibes

Although it’s the weekend, sadly I’m reporting that I’ll be Micahless until Monday. He’s off to visit his family in central Kansas. While he’s gone, I’d hope to accomplish a billion things, but nope. I’ve done absolutely nothing. It’s what I do best.

I have been beating the heat in these shorts and detailed top that was a gift from my mom. Some days are better than others in this heat. Today it’s been close to 100 degrees. Yesterday was still windy. Summer in Kansas is unpredictable as most weather conditions are here. As of right how it’s clear skies, sun, and dry heat.

While Micah is out fishing with his family, I’m inside enjoying the cool AC. I’ll see you back on Monday. I’m sending you weekend vibes. As always.

Through the garden

It really stinks that I’m not able to post as often as I’d like. But right now, I’m where I need to be. I’ve learned to accept the fact that it’s a busy time of the year. Today I caught myself wishing, hoping, even praying, for summer to come fast. In reality, what I should be doing is thinking how blessed I am “right” now. Then, I realized that counting my blessings is the best way to stop time and enjoy the moment.

  1. The boyfriend and I haven’t been spending a lot of time together, but we’re still so in love.
  2. We haven’t been able to practice or play due to a heavy rainfall, but today, the middle school team I coach, won our fist game of the season. Yay!
  3. Work is full of things to do, but I’ve got a job.
  4. I haven’t been able to run or exercise, but I’m healthy.
  5. I haven’t been able to travel or sit still, but I still have San Francisco to ponder over.

Which brings me to this outfit. I wore it during a rendezvous to a very unique and beautiful garden. I’ll share with you all that location in a different post, but for now I just want to focus on this top.

It’s the return of Zara and I’m not complaining. My friend took me to Zara and it was amazing. There was so much to choose from, so much to see, and so much fitting room fun; I never wanted to leave. What I did leave with instead was this top among other items I hope to share very soon.

Now this top is very fem and soft. I enjoy how unique the sleeves are. It’s simple yet complex. I decided to pair it with green jeans and dark boots to add edge. Since apparently I think I’m edgy (if I even know what that means).

FYI, I did something to my hair too. It’s obvious. I’ll post about that too, if and when I have time. Hope it’s sooner rather than later. As always.

Green for life

I know it’s a little late, but I wanted to share this post before the day is officially over.

This week has been a little rough, at our district we lost two middle school students. It was tough on everyone, but today I told my students that they needed to live a life that was fruitful, because they each had a purpose so special and unique it would be a shame not see it through. I’d do anything for my students, in fact, I told them I’d fight any fight for them. Honestly why wouldn’t I? They are my well being, my everyday, my tomorrow.

Since yesterday I wore a touch of green, I decided that today, I would promote life by wearing green. It was such a beautiful day, despite the tragedies. However, this green dress made me feel full of life, warmth, and it gave me vibrant vibes. I styled this outfit with a black sweater and combat boots, you know to fight on through. The cutout in the back is my favorite thing about this dress. It’s fun.

Today if it’s in your heart, pray for the families of these two students, they lost their lives in different ways for different reasons. However the pain they left behind is equally damaging.

Think of their families during this time. As always.

Sunny warm

If you live in Kansas, days like today are cherished. And that’s exactly what I did when I left work and discovered it was warm, but not just any kind of warm, sunny warm. The first three months of the year are typically brutally cold, but today we reached up 67 degrees. It felt nice… really nice.

So to celebrate this day of grace, I only wore a sweater to work and my favorite-thin trousers from Forever 21. I paired the black bottoms with one of my favorite sweater. It was a gift from my favorite aunt for one Christmas and I cherish it dearly. The majority of my clothes comes from family members that know I’d rock any outfit. Or at least try too.

Today, as I was planning out February, I realized just how busy I was going to be. It’s bittersweet. I enjoy running around, but I also enjoy “me” time. Either way when it’s warm it makes it better to be run around and tackle those errands. And also if you’ve got a nice outfit to help with the “busy” vibe.

Thanks for reading and I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

With some blue

Today, was way colder than yesterday. So it was back to bundling up. I’m starting to feel as if this is going to be the longest winter ever! I realize that February and parts of March are still a bit on the chilly side and that makes sad.

None-the-less, at least I have pieces that I enjoy to wear during this time of the year. For one, and of course you’ve seen it on here before, is this jacket from Miss Me. You know the story. I paired with one of my favorite turtle necks. And also because black is my outfit color, I wore all black.

Hopefully we start to see warmer days, I have new items from Zara I’m dying to share with you all. As always. 24653

Back with the blues

Yesterday felt nice on the bones, today, brrrr. I didn’t realize how cold it was today until I walked out in this outfit. I mean it’s semi-warm, but it’s not winter approved by any means. The wind gusting made it almost unbearable, but I managed to brave through it in order to share with you guys this dress and take care of some last minute errands before I return to work.

Within the last couple of months, I had signed up for Stitch Fix, and I absolutely loved it. The only problem was that I wasn’t able to buy the majority of the items because they didn’t fit my body type (sporty-petite)! It’s a hard life sometimes. However, I fell in love with this dress because the looseness fit my vibe. Also any dress that has pockets scored major points for me! So I purchased it. I’ve wore it so many ways, including with leather leggings, and utility boots. I added the jean vest for some coolness. I think it looks great behind the blue background.

I’m off to watch some basketball so I’ll probably change into something warmer.

Don’t let the mother nature deceive you, stay warm!

The cold weather calls for a bit of comfort and a lot of utility. I love this jacket, but I can only wear a little bit into December. During the noon hours it’s perfect, but at night, forget it. I freeze. However one of the things I like to wear with this light jacket is a hooded sweater. This gives it some personality.

Something interesting about this look is the fact that the boyfriend (he now has a face, scroll on down) sort-of-kind of matched me when I wore this. He also wore a stripped sweater, similar to mine and an army green vest, similar to the jacket. We’ve “matched” twice before. We don’t plan it so we sure turn red with embarrassment every time we do this. It’s quiet funny yet romantic.

Tomorrow is my last day of school then break. I need one as much I love to work. I’m just ready to re-charge the batteries.

Ta-da! Welcome Micah, my love to  Always A!
