I’m caught in between wishing warm weather would stay, and a slight transition into fall.
Let’s face it cooler weather and shorter days are among us, but there’s no need to hide away, that perfect dress is waiting for you. For example I’ve dying over this Blue Print Dress, from Zaful.
I’ve been into the color blue lately (as you can see from my last two posts). So this dress caught my eye instantly because of the print is simply subtle. I can see this piece paired with heel sandals or ankle booties, which is more appropriate for fall (keep the toes warm). Another “cool” thing about this dress is that it gives me the boho feels. I want to be able to experiment with different styles and lately I’ve been too afraid to just change it up. Sometimes I struggle to define who I am in terms of my clothes, but this dress allows me to express who I am in many ways. Yay for versatility.
How to wear this blue printed dress?
Because I am aiming for the boho look I’ve decided to keep warm weather for longer and pair this dress with heel sandals, cute sunglasses, a double necklace, and a big bag with a fringe. These accessories help compliment the dress in a light way. The glasses and the necklace aren’t bold and won’t distract from the pretty pattern of the dress. In addition the bag and heels join forces to both help compliment the over all look.
The entire look can be found at Zaful. You can click the link to visit each item.
How would you style this dress?

Tomorrow I return to work. While I’m excited to start the new school year, I’m also anxious, nervous, and a bit on the unmotivated side of things. It’s year five for me, but something inside of me still wants to be in Mexico.
So while the realization of school starting back up is more than real and I can’t physically be in my motherland, these pictures will have to suffice.
These pictures take me back to the endless hours of walking through these woods that sit behind my grandparent’s home. Micah and I would explore this area and enjoy our love quietly, holding hands.
On this day I wore this pretty and simple top from the Buckle. It’s pretty long so my white shorts are appear invisible sometimes, which I liked. I typically wouldn’t wear something like this in Dodge because my students would look at me strangely. But I took advantage of being away from the noise to wear this daring top. My favorite part is the back side. I enjoyed the cutout detail and how I was able to flaunt a little more of my back than usual.
My sandals are Skechers. I bought them especially for the mission trip. They are EVERYTHING! I wore them everyday because of their comfort and design. They were also on sale for $19.99. Oh joy! You’ll be seeing them on here more than you’d like.
With school starting on Monday, my time blogging will simmer down, but don’t forget about me. I’ll post often. As always.
I’ve been dreaming of the day where I just get to sit and relax for about a month. I wanted it to be in my own home. My own bed. My own pillow. So when I got back from Mexico it was only natural to do what I do best–NOTHING.
So I’ve done nothing for the right amount of time, it worked, and now I’m back to structure and consistency. YAY!
For the sake of running on schedule, I’d like to post this look from my time visiting my grandparents in Durango, Mexico. After the mission trip, I took Micah to the place where I was born. I immediately had to show him around the wood area.
For the look-around, I wore this maxi dress from Zaful. Which was perfect enough to feature today as I will be collaborating with them on a project I’m excited to announce with more details later.
This dress is perfect for me because of the ombre feel and the spot on length. The off-the-shoulder sleeves are to die for. I just love how well this dress looks in these neck of the woods.
I’ve spent the majority of the day browsing through my blog. It really came to my surprise how much I’ve changed. Not in a major way. Not in the way that I feel I’m a different person entirely. But in the way this blog has evolved. It’s been such a learning experience getting to see how much my style has changed. This blog has continued to be a place where I can express who I am through my clothes. Some of my posts have been so ridiculous and I’ve worn some questionable items, but it’s nothing I regret. A major thing that I’ve notice is that I feel more confident, secure, and even adventurous in how I dress and express myself. Even how I pose has improved. There are still so many things I want to do with this blog and I’m really excited to see where it goes and what I learn. I love to write. I love photography. I love clothes. So for now, I’ll enjoy everything this blog to offer me. An escape.
Now as I was looking around, I came to discover some pieces that I’ve worn on here multiple times and I thought I’d share how I repeat them. It’s been awhile since I’ve done this series. The main thing with my clothes is that I only buy items I know I’m going to wear more than three times. Check out these two items and how I’ve styled them. Which is your favorite?
My long plaid shirt from Forever 21. I wore it in the winter time underneath my favorite leather jacket for a cool girl vibe. That’s how I ultimately feel about this shirt. Cool. Just recently I showed it off a bit more by wearing nothing but it around town. Again, I felt cool.
This is my favorite jumpsuit because the color is so neat. The first time I wore this green jumpsuit from Forever 21 was in the fall. I paired it with booties and my fuzzy jacket. Lately I layered it with a white t-shirt and sandals for an every-day-look. It’s just everything. I can’t wait to wear this thing again.
I’ve got a weekend packed of cleaning and organizing before Micah and I head out to Mexico for our mission trip. We are both really excited about it. I can’t wait to share with you all how I’m packing. Stay tune. Have a good week. I’ll see you all on Monday again. As always.
Soccer season as come to an end and summer is right around the corner. All of this can only mean one thing, down time. This is a good thing. I want to focus a little bit more on my blog and I’m also excited to be able to journal what’s been happening lately.
So this shoot was from what seems like ages ago, but it was taken when it appeared spring was coming, of course in Kansas one can never be too sure. It was a windy day, but honestly for the first time the sun was warm. I usually like days like that.
Not being prepared, with my sense of weather, I wore this green top I often wear to work. I like it because you can tie it around the neck. It just gives off a work-place vibe. The jeans are sort of my favorite textured bottoms. Trust me, I’m not as adventurous when it comes to my bottoms, but when I saw these jeans, with tiny flowers I had to get them. They are from Target. I really enjoy the way the fit and also the way they absolutely change my outfits.
You might also notice my heel-sandals. I got this pair in nude because I plan on wearing them with everything! So far they’ve been so versatile I can hardly stop myself from jumping up and down. Note, they will be on here a lot! Stay tune.
It’s important for me to wear my clothes out in such a way that yes, I’ll be repeating daily. You’ve seen the boyfriend jeans and this top on here before, so don’t wear tired. Just hang on. Remember that I love my clothes very much. You’ll see them on here more than enough times. I hope though that every time I wear certain staples that it will be in a different way. For example, today I wore my velvet top with the boyfriend jeans. I’ve never paired the two together because I felt like the top was too delicate the roughness of these jeans. However, the pair radiate cool girl, and let’s face it; I’m cool! To continue to add to the street stylish attitude I wore my boots from Steve Madden. They are one of my favorites.
I hope you enjoy today’s look, I managed to take these before the wind broke out, it’s a tornado out there. As always.
Today I wore this plaid shirt. At first glance it doesn’t seem that special, specific, darling, eye-opening, but it’s comfortable, versatile, gentle, and homey.
Those are the pieces that I love the most. The ones I can wear time-and-time again. I’d love to say that my closet is full of mystery- fashion-forward pieces, but I’m just a regular Kansas girl showcasing what I’ve got to work with and that my friends is a plain.
An occasionally some fitted jeans and flats.
It’s a triple-threat you can’t ignore.
What’s your most comfortable piece of clothing? As always.
During the holiday, I was filled with family and boyfriend time, so it was a little hard for me to blog. On Christmas Eve, I spent the majority of my time at church and with family. Per our tradition, we opened presents on the night of. Then the boyfriend took me celebrate Christmas with his family. Needless to stay, I’m so blessed and this has been by far the best holiday season, to-date!
Because during Christmas Eve we attended church service, I wore this dress and blazer from JCPenny. It’s a huge family tradition to also wear red so this outfit was perfect. I typically wear this during my teacher hours, so for me, it’s multi-purpose. *Remember, I’m trying to be that girl.
Right now, I’m blogging on the road because the boyfriend gifted me a ski trip to Colorado. I’m super excited to be going because I’ve never gone. We will be testing out the GoPro that I got during Black Friday. We are both equally excited for that. I’m more excited to spend time with this guy because lately we haven’t been able to get on the same page with time.
The five hour drive has consisted of him singing Garth Brooks and George Strait. It’s music to my ears!
Cheers friends, wherever you are, from around the world and into your home.
One of my favorite colors is red. Next to purple of course. The school that I teach at sports with pride the big red and blue. So naturally a lot of my items include red pieces, like this cardigan. This one in particular I wear during the casual parts of my life. It doesn’t necessarily keep me warm, but it does give the majority of my outfits that stamp of approval. And I approve.
The color red, for me anyway, also represents that Christmas is right around the corner and this too, puts me in a festive mood. Yet again. It’s hard to believe that there are only 12 days left until Christmas break. Gasp.
I’ll continue to post as many bare legged outfits as the weather will grant me permission with.
Outfit: Converse shoes, dress catalog find, and cardigan from Forever 21.
It’s been a whole year! Whoa, I can’t believe it. It’s been an amazing ride. I feel truly blessed to have the fans and supporters I have had since I first began. I also love looking back at the beginning and seeing how much I have grown and evolved. Tear. Being able to express myself through this medium has been an amazing experience and I seriously can’t wait to share even more with all of you guys. I’m loving life. And I’m living every moment to it’s fullest. I of course have new goals, this to make myself grow even more. One of them is blogging more and often. I want to be able to share with you everything that inspires me. Goal two, is communicate more with my audience. I hope to do this and much more. Thanks once again. You rock! Much love and appreciation.
As always, aleyrojas
