With the wind

It’s not unusual for there to be wind gusting at 20 plus mph here in Dodge City. In fact, we quiet literally experience these frustrating times about four times a week. It’s become exhausting. In order to get me through these tiring times, I opt for wearing my hair in a high ponytail. It’s life saving.

Today, the hair was fully up giving me time to think and to cool off, two things I needed during the busy morning. These earrings helped bring my outfit together as they played sister to my heels. Now, the top although it may look fall inspired is actually a must have for warm weather. Forget the fall color. This top is super lightweight and cool. During the school year I often wear this top from H&M with a pair of slacks for a professional vibe. Today, as you can see, I’ve transformed it into everyday wear. *Pat on the back.

Tiny Flowers

Soccer season as come to an end and summer is right around the corner. All of this can only mean one thing, down time. This is a good thing. I want to focus a little bit more on my blog and I’m also excited to be able to journal what’s been happening lately.

So this shoot was from what seems like ages ago, but it was taken when it appeared spring was coming, of course in Kansas one can never be too sure. It was a windy day, but honestly for the first time the sun was warm. I usually like days like that.

Not being prepared, with my sense of weather, I wore this green top I often wear to work. I like it because you can tie it around the neck. It just gives off a work-place vibe. The jeans are sort of my favorite textured bottoms. Trust me, I’m not as adventurous when it comes to my bottoms, but when I saw these jeans, with tiny flowers I had to get them. They are from Target. I really enjoy the way the fit and also the way they absolutely change my outfits.

You might also notice my heel-sandals. I got this pair in nude because I plan on wearing them with everything! So far they’ve been so versatile I can hardly stop myself from jumping up and down. Note, they will be on here a lot! Stay tune.

As always.

See through

1-1

This is my last post from my past Zara purchase. This top. Let’s marvel at it. It’s so pretty, delicate, and chic. Aside from wearing black and purple, green is my favorite color to sport. I was thrilled when I came about this top because that splash of color. The design of the top is impressive and unique. It screams old Spanish. Because the top was so delicate I decided to give it a street vibe by pairing it with jeans and black stilettos.

Again, I’ll be wearing it on the regular, especially towards the summer weather.

I can’t believe that in 3 weeks, the start of the last quarter of school will begin, and summer is right around the corner. Yikes.

For now, I’m going to enjoy these unexpected warmer days.

On the move

6

I had off today because of President’s Day. However it wasn’t necessarily a day off for me. I woke up pretty early to do some much needed chores around the house and also to run some errands in town. One of my cousins is getting married in April so today was a prefect day to purchase items for her upcoming bridal shower.

I wore this outfit for that. It’s been super windy today, so I wore gray tone jeans, a neutral blouse, and snake skin like flats that I got on sale from Charlotte Russe. I’ve been dying to wear them for sometime now and I’m so glad it was nice enough to wear them out.

If you’re off today, enjoy, for everyone else; I’ll see at you work tomorrow.

Plaid

1

Today I wore this plaid shirt. At first glance it doesn’t seem that special, specific, darling, eye-opening, but it’s comfortable, versatile, gentle, and homey.

Those are the pieces that I love the most. The ones I can wear time-and-time again. I’d love to say that my closet is full of mystery- fashion-forward pieces, but I’m just a regular Kansas girl showcasing what I’ve got to work with and that my friends is a plain.

An occasionally some fitted jeans and flats.

It’s a triple-threat you can’t ignore.

What’s your most comfortable piece of clothing? As always.

Heart on that sleeve

4

I’m posting a little later today because it’s so gorgeous out. We basically hit the 70s. It was so usually scary.

It was the perfect opportunity to show off one of my recent purchases from Zara! I had heard of Zara in the past, but hadn’t gotten the chance to purchase anything. However, I’m in the process of sort of revamping my closet so I felt like the time was right to peek. The online store is to die for. I purchased four articles of clothing and a pair of shoes. But, if I could, I could have easily cleared the bank. I will later.

Right now, let’s marvel at this top! OOhhh Aaahh. It feels so great and it look even better. I absolutely love the detail in the sleeve with the ruffle. It’s so pre-spring. With this top, I paired with liked colors. I plan on wearing this top more often then not, so beware, it will make a repeat. As always.

Coatful

1

I’ve about had it with wearing a coat or sweater. I’m full of it! But I’ll have to be patient since February and parts of March will still be cold. Yay. Eye roll.

I got out of work early today because there was a major water line break at the school so students were dismissed at 11:05 a.m., they were thrilled of course. So was I, but not as much as the students since there is so much to do.

After the dismissal, I jetted home to change into something much more comfortable in order to run some much needed errands. I had a bunch of things piled up that need some attention. For this, I wore my olive green jeans, a simple white tee, blocked heels, and my new coat. The coat was a Christmas gift from my parents. I had been dying for a coat that was longer than mid-length. After months of searching, we found the perfect one at Dillards.

School will resume back up tomorrow and I’m excited to see the look at my student’s face back in the classroom.
