I’m up early on this special day, the Fourth of July. It’s Independence Day. For me it’s not just a day where I realize or even celebrate how much freedom I have in this country, but it’s a day that fills me with joy because of what it’s done for my family. Yes, it’s giving us liberty, but sometimes I don’t acknowledge the pursuit of happiness aspect of what of the United States has to offer. We are filled with some much happiness here. The main reason is because we are filled with opportunity. That’s a great a freedom to hold.
Thanks to this country and its Founding Father’s I am a first generation college graduate, I am a teacher, I am a sister, a daughter, a child of God, a girlfriend, and a blogger, all of this is based on the opportunities I was given. I suppose it doesn’t matter how I got here, who my parents are, and what they’ve done to be in here, (trust me, they have sacrificed A LOT) what’s important is that they could. Without question. That in itself is grand. And I salute being American every day.
Today on the blog, I wore this pretty white top from the Buckle. The boyfriend jeans had to make an appearance of course. And the bandana allowed me to incorporate red because for some reason I don’t own red like I thought I did.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth, that many fireworks are popped, and that we let freedom ring. Today and everyday. As always.
Today’s post is later than usual. I’ve had quite a day. I spent most of my morning organizing and cleaning. My afternoon was spent catching up with the sister MariAntonia from my church. The evening was spent running errands. All to which I came home to my dog barking loud and with distraught. I approached her just to come and find a huge snake coiled up ready to attack her. My father came out, shovel in hand, and spiked the animal. Whew, close one.
What I wore today was this top from Maurices. In Dodge City, there is hardly anywhere decent to shop. You have Maurices and the Buckle. I alternate from time-to-time which of these stores I actually enter, as most of my shopping is done online. As of late Maurices has tickled my fancy and I’ve gone on a bit of a shopping spree there. This top is one of my many great finds I’m excited to share with you all.
What I like the most about this piece is the gray and green tones. These are two of my favorite colors. It’s delicate and cool. It flows. It goes well with a lot of already favorite pieces. It’s perfect.
More on this look towards the bottom. As always.
On this windy and hot day I present you this lovely Zara top.
There is so much perfection coming from this top, from the detail in the sleeves to the wonderful embroidery that’s tiny and precise. In addition to everything nice about this top, I absolutely love that’s it’s completely versatile. Today I paired it with black shorts I purchased at Target, but I’m also thinking you’ll see it on here in different ways. Stay tune.
I also love these sandals I purchased from Shoe Dazzle awhile ago. They are the perfect blend of cool and summer. As always.
On Thursday, I got my wisdom teeth pulled. All four. It was a major ordeal. One I wasn’t quiet prepared for as I am now literally starving and in pain. I have never felt miserable, except for that one time where I lost my three front teeth in high school and my then boyfriend dumped me. Oh well, things could be a lot worse.
Naturally I have felt ugly for the past four days. Blame it on starvation. So today, I tried to pretty myself, you know to lift moral and it worked. I completely forgot what it was like to take care of yourself. Literally.
I wore these trousers from H&M that I’ve had for awhile and worn to school multiple times, because they are that comfortable. Since it’s been warm and windy I opted for wearing a ponytail and a cool silver top I found at TJMAXX. Both great wears for a not so comfortable life situation.
Here’s to feeling better, as always
I’m ending the work week with this beautiful lace dress. This is one of my favorites because it’s the right length in all the right places. I got it from JCPenney. I know it’s not quiet spring time yet, but the coral color of this dress makes me feel cozy and warm. The weather has been cooperating enough to allow me to feel good in this outfit.
I paired this dress with neutral booties. Have I mentioned just how much I’m digging neutral items as of late? It’s a thing and it’s my life currently. I got the boots last year from ShoeDazzle.
The ring is an old find from Forever 21. This weekend I want to enjoy the weather and spending some quality time with Micah, we haven’t been able too in awhile.
Have a great one. See you back on Monday. As always.
Okay back to posting about clothes and fashion.
I’m sure you have seen the top part of these next photo on my IG and I’ve been meaning to post the full outfit deers, it just hasn’t happened for some reason or another.
So two obvious things I’m loving about this outfit is the bottom portion which includes the heels and the pants. I’ve wanting/searching for heels with a thick heel and green jeans. When I found the two, I had to pair them together, because I succeed in finding them.
Jump for joy. Stay warm my friends, it’s pretty chilly in Kansas.
Outfit: sweater was a gift, bottoms from Pac Sun, and heels from Shoedazzle.
Saturday marked the coldest night of the month, which also meant that the true effects of winter are evident. However, the days, are fairly warm and welcoming. I”m afraid it’s going to be the last of it.
I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Outfit: boots from Shoedazzle, jeans from Forever 21, top from Maurice’s, sweater from the Buckle.
