For as long as I can remember black tones just didn’t go well with brown tones. It was a faux pas, you just didn’t do it. Needless to say that I have followed this act until recently. Black is my favorite to color to wear, but as of late, brown has been attracting me. So because of this I’ve purchased a lot of brown toned heels, which according to me go with everything and anything.
I’ve decided to ditch the fact that these two colors simply can’t be friends and I’ve accepted to embrace how wonderful I seem to feel in both at the same time. This top, although not entirely brown, gives into the black shorts and brown heels. It’s a perfect match. I found it at TJMAXX for a mere $12.99. This top, off the shoulder, is perfect for evening out unwanted tan lines. I’m still working on mine. As always.
Although it’s the weekend, sadly I’m reporting that I’ll be Micahless until Monday. He’s off to visit his family in central Kansas. While he’s gone, I’d hope to accomplish a billion things, but nope. I’ve done absolutely nothing. It’s what I do best.
I have been beating the heat in these shorts and detailed top that was a gift from my mom. Some days are better than others in this heat. Today it’s been close to 100 degrees. Yesterday was still windy. Summer in Kansas is unpredictable as most weather conditions are here. As of right how it’s clear skies, sun, and dry heat.
While Micah is out fishing with his family, I’m inside enjoying the cool AC. I’ll see you back on Monday. I’m sending you weekend vibes. As always.
The mornings have been crisp, which only means one thing, summer is a thing of the past. Officially. I’m not truly ready for fall or winter, but I know that it must come. My transition to colder weather has been slow. Meaning, sometimes it’s non-existing.

Summer is officially here; heat wise!! Yikes!!! As you can tell I’ve got an awkward tan going on. But, regardless of the weird lines, I wore these shorts. I picked them up on vacation last year during my stay with my grandparents in Mexico. My grandma always knows where to take me to find the cutest little things (haha 😉
Oh by the way, I actually busted out the sunglasses too. That usually never happens since I’m pretty comfortable in the sun.

Send me pictures of your favorite pair of shorts. As always,
