Tomorrow I return to work. While I’m excited to start the new school year, I’m also anxious, nervous, and a bit on the unmotivated side of things. It’s year five for me, but something inside of me still wants to be in Mexico.
So while the realization of school starting back up is more than real and I can’t physically be in my motherland, these pictures will have to suffice.
These pictures take me back to the endless hours of walking through these woods that sit behind my grandparent’s home. Micah and I would explore this area and enjoy our love quietly, holding hands.
On this day I wore this pretty and simple top from the Buckle. It’s pretty long so my white shorts are appear invisible sometimes, which I liked. I typically wouldn’t wear something like this in Dodge because my students would look at me strangely. But I took advantage of being away from the noise to wear this daring top. My favorite part is the back side. I enjoyed the cutout detail and how I was able to flaunt a little more of my back than usual.
My sandals are Skechers. I bought them especially for the mission trip. They are EVERYTHING! I wore them everyday because of their comfort and design. They were also on sale for $19.99. Oh joy! You’ll be seeing them on here more than you’d like.
With school starting on Monday, my time blogging will simmer down, but don’t forget about me. I’ll post often. As always.
I’m so excited to share with you all my new mules courtesy of H&M. It’s tough living in Dodge City sometimes, as southwest Kansas isn’t always fashion friendly. It’s a constant struggle for me. But I love home. Anyway, a lot of my friends scorned me for even trying to buy mules, so I didn’t buy them, until now. When I saw these I fell in love with everything about them. They are cool. They are textured. They are of perfect height. They are versatile. I’m just ready to wear them 24/7.
What I’ve learned about living in a small town is that people aren’t always going to be in your favor, but in order to stay true to who you are, you have to leave those thoughts behind. I’m me unapologetic. I hope this blog reflects that.
Today, I wore the mules with my new top from Maurices, because of late, it’s my go-to shop for in store browsing. The top is delicate itself so the mules give it a nice compliment.
I hope you enjoy seeing these babies often. As always.
Today’s post is later than usual. I’ve had quite a day. I spent most of my morning organizing and cleaning. My afternoon was spent catching up with the sister MariAntonia from my church. The evening was spent running errands. All to which I came home to my dog barking loud and with distraught. I approached her just to come and find a huge snake coiled up ready to attack her. My father came out, shovel in hand, and spiked the animal. Whew, close one.
What I wore today was this top from Maurices. In Dodge City, there is hardly anywhere decent to shop. You have Maurices and the Buckle. I alternate from time-to-time which of these stores I actually enter, as most of my shopping is done online. As of late Maurices has tickled my fancy and I’ve gone on a bit of a shopping spree there. This top is one of my many great finds I’m excited to share with you all.
What I like the most about this piece is the gray and green tones. These are two of my favorite colors. It’s delicate and cool. It flows. It goes well with a lot of already favorite pieces. It’s perfect.
More on this look towards the bottom. As always.
Although it’s the weekend, sadly I’m reporting that I’ll be Micahless until Monday. He’s off to visit his family in central Kansas. While he’s gone, I’d hope to accomplish a billion things, but nope. I’ve done absolutely nothing. It’s what I do best.
I have been beating the heat in these shorts and detailed top that was a gift from my mom. Some days are better than others in this heat. Today it’s been close to 100 degrees. Yesterday was still windy. Summer in Kansas is unpredictable as most weather conditions are here. As of right how it’s clear skies, sun, and dry heat.
While Micah is out fishing with his family, I’m inside enjoying the cool AC. I’ll see you back on Monday. I’m sending you weekend vibes. As always.
The sun is out and that mean shorts!
Now, I’m not big on shorts because at times I get a little insecure about my bottom. I can’t seem to find the right pair of shorts that makes me feel modest and sexy at the same time. If that’s even allowed. It’s hard people.
Many say I should be proud of my legs and butt, however I don’t see why it’s so great when I can’t find proper fitting bottoms. Anyway, I did run across these from Target. I like these shorts because they are the stretchy side and it helps– majorly.
Excuse the uneven tan lines and enjoy my top. It’s from H&M. As of lately I’ve been in between Zara and H&M. You’ve heard me talk about Zara for far too long that now I’ve decided to switch it around. To give everyone a break. So this top is one of my favorites because it’s short and the color (the splash of pink) is just my right type of shade. I’m usually not into the color pink so this one is great because it doesn’t wash out my skin tone. Plus check out the accent on the sleeves and bottom.
I’m also showing off this bracelet that my friend from San Fran gifted me with as a “see ya” soon parting. It’s totally her style. The dream catcher gives me hope that I’ll see her again.
Enjoy the heat if you’ve got it. As always.
This is my last post from my past Zara purchase. This top. Let’s marvel at it. It’s so pretty, delicate, and chic. Aside from wearing black and purple, green is my favorite color to sport. I was thrilled when I came about this top because that splash of color. The design of the top is impressive and unique. It screams old Spanish. Because the top was so delicate I decided to give it a street vibe by pairing it with jeans and black stilettos.
Again, I’ll be wearing it on the regular, especially towards the summer weather.
I can’t believe that in 3 weeks, the start of the last quarter of school will begin, and summer is right around the corner. Yikes.
For now, I’m going to enjoy these unexpected warmer days.
I’ve got Spring fever bad guys. Today I entered a coma I couldn’t quiet get out of. The sun felt nice on my face and the warm weather gave me lacking energy.
I feel like today’s post just makes it that much evident how much I want to ditch the sweaters and layers. With that in mind, I took major advantage of Mother Nature being nice and I wore long, pancho-like trousers and another Zara find!
I enjoy wearing these trousers so much because they are fitting and comfortable. I manage to wear them to school a lot, but sometimes they are my go-to weekend pants.
The top is gorgeous to me because of the dotted detail and the arm cutout. For sure, this top will be my pick for the Spring, and you must believe it will be on repeat on here majorly.
Yes it snowed and yes it’s been cold, but no I’m not complaining.
Continuing with my Stitch Fix box items, today I wore this top separately with my closet items. Now, this top isn’t something I would normally wear, but there is a lot of wonderful things going on. For example the sleeves and the print are to die for. Plus the color coordination makes this top a heavy contender for room in my closet.
I decided to wear the top with gray pants and gray cutout booties. Just to kick around in the snow. Fun.
